Instruction to Authors - January 2013


Asian Journal of Medical and Biological Research(AJMBR) is aimed to promote scientific communication among medical researchers worldwide. AJMBR is an International online Journal published in   a frequency of four issues per year by Sydus International Scientific Publishing,India. AJMBR publishes research papers, reviews, case reports, commentaries and letters to editor covering all the aspects of   basic medical, clinical and biological sciences.

Informed Consent

The papers should comply with the clinical trials informed consent.  Informed consent has to be taken  from  the participants or human healthy volunteers or patients or in the case of minors the consent should be obtained from  the parents or legally authorized persons.. This should be indicated in the article in the methodology section.


The study should have been approved by the concerned ethics committee/review board and a copy of the approval letter has to be attached with the manuscript.

Preparation of Manuscript

Manuscript should be type written in font size 12 using Times New Roman, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Pages should be numbered consecutively, starting with the title page and the text arranged in the following order: Title page, Abstract, List of authors, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion and Conclusion, Acknowledgements, References, Tables and figures along with caption and legends.

Title Page

Title of the manuscript should be in capital letters, font 14, names and addresses of authors in lower case in 12 font. Names of the authors should appear as initials followed by full name as how the authors would desire.. The corresponding author should be indicated with an asterisk. Please mention “*For correspondence” and provide full address, e-mail address and phone number or mobile of the corresponding author to whom all correspondences have to be sent.


 An abstract not exceeding 300 words should be provided in a separate sheet. Abstract should include Objectives, methods, results and conclusion.


4-6 keywords must be provided at the end of the abstract.


It should be started in new page and have the background of the work presented; including relevant earlier works, suitably referenced


It shall be a continuation of the introduction on the same page. All important materials and equipments, the manufacturer’s name and, if possible, the location should be provided. The main methods used shall be briefly described, citing references. New methods or modified methods may be described in sufficient detail. The statistical method and the level of significance chosen shall be clearly stated.


The results of the work should be clearly stated and illustrated wherever necessary by tables and figures. The statistical analysis of data and significance level should be stated wherever necessary. Data that are not statistically significant need only to be mentioned in the text – no illustration is necessary.


Discussion should be logical sequences of interpretation of results, enabling the readers understand the research issues and the credibility of the outcome of the results.


Concisely summarizes the outcome of the work and highlights the future implications and scope of the results.

Acknowledgements as well as information regarding funding sources should be provided.


Should each be typed on a separate page, numbered in sequence with the body of the text. Tables should be headed with a short, descriptive caption. They should be formatted with horizontal lines only: vertical ruled lines are not required. Footnotes to tables should be indicated with a), b), c) etc. and typed on the same page as the table.


Should be on separate pages and not inserted within the text. All figures must be referred to in the text and numbered with Arabic numerals in the sequence in which they are cited. Each figure must be accompanied by a legend explaining in detail the contents of the figure and typed under the figures.

Graphs and bar graphs should preferably be prepared using Microsoft Excel and submitted as Excel graph pasted in Word. Alternatively photographs can be submitted as JPEG images. Keys to symbols, abbreviations, arrows, numbers or letters used in the illustrations should not be written on the illustration itself but should be clearly explained in the legend.

Avoid inserting a box with key to symbols, in the figure or below the figure.

Article Proofs

Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author through e-mail. They must be carefully checked and the revised manuscript returned within 72 hours .It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure that the galley proof are to be returned without delay with correction if any. Authors are responsible for the contents of their published manuscripts.


Authors are asked to sign a warranty and copyright agreement upon acceptance of their manuscript, before the manuscript can be published.

Reviewers suggestion

All the authors are requested to suggest two reviewers ,while submitting manuscript

Peer Review Process

All the manuscript submitted to the journal receives individual identification code and immediately sent to the peer-review to the reviewers. After receiving the reviewer’s report/comments, the report will be communicated to the authors for possible corrections if accepted. Authors will be directed to submit revised manuscript within the time limit.

Article processing charge

Upon acceptance by the journal, fees will be charged for publishing the per article
